The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between motivation orientation and attachment style to God with Islamic self-control among students of universities in Qom. This is a correlational study. Descriptive statistical methods, Pearson correlation, and regression were applied to analyze the data. The population of this study consisted of all students of Qom city universities of which 212 students were selected by convenience sampling method. The tools used in this study were Self-Control Scale Based on Islamic Sources questionnaires, Intrinsic Motivation Inventory and Attachment to God Inventory. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between the motivational orientation and the style of attachment to God with Islamic Self-Control. Also, motivational orientation and attachment styles in God could predict the Islamic Self-Control. Additionally, of all the subscales Islamic Self-control and the general Self-Control variable, the style of attachment to God has only on the subscale self-regulation and behavioral inhibition moderating effect, and the hypothesis of the rest of the scales and general self-control was not proved.
