The aim of the present study was to investigate the role of emotional avoidance, psychological capital and religiosity in predicting the wellbeing dimensions of the elderly with type 2 diabetes. This research is based on descriptive and correlational method, and its statistical population is the elderly in Khorramabad. In this study, 200 elderly people over 60 years of age in Khorramabad city were selected by random sampling method and in clusters from different urban areas to participate in the study. To collect data, Kennedy (2015) Emotional Avoidance Questionnaire, McGee Psychological Investments (2011), Wilde and Joseph (1997) Muslim’s Attitude toward Religious Scale, and Gewers & Margamio (2003) subjective Well-Being Questionnaire were used. The data were analyzed using SPSS software, Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate regression tests in a stepwise manner. The relationship between two variables of emotional avoidance with each of the components of subjective well-being is negative and significant, the relationship between the variables of psychological capitalism and religiosity with each of the components of subjective well-being is positive and significant. The results of this study had important implications for the importance of independent variables in maintaining the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of the elderly.
