The necessity of incorporating religious and cultural concepts into mental health has become evident. However, in Iran, despite the significance of Mahdaviat (the belief in the awaited savior), there is no standard tool for assessing Mahdaviat culture. The Hosseinzadeh questionnaire, originally developed to measure belief in Mahdaviat, does not adequately assess the broader culture of Mahdaviat. This study aims to develop and validate a Mahdaviat Culture Questionnaire. The questionnaire items were revised to align with new research objectives, with some items removed, modified, or added by experts. The Content Validity Index for factors and Content Validity Ratio for items were calculated. Reliability was assessed using Cronbach's alpha, test-retest reliability, and construct validity through exploratory factor analysis in SPSS 27. The final scale includes 34 items and four factors: Faith and Mahdaviat Practice, Imam Knowledge, Awareness of the Philosophy of Occultation and Reappearance, and Understanding the Foundations of Connection with Imam al-Mahdi during Occultation, collectively explaining 42.37% of the total variance. The Cronbach's alpha for the scale is 0.94, and item correlation coefficients exceed 0.7. Therefore, this questionnaire demonstrates adequate validity and reliability for assessing Mahdaviat culture.
