Abstract

This study aimed to develop and validate an Ideal Prayer Questionnaire based on Islamic sources. The research was conducted using a descriptive-survey method with stratified random sampling among seminary students and university students at Imam Khomeini Institute in the 2024-2025 academic year. To assess content validity, five experts in Islamic sciences and psychology were consulted, and the Content Validity Index and Content Validity Ratio were utilized to evaluate the items. For construct validity, internal consistency and factor analysis were employed. The findings revealed the extraction of two factors: Inner Etiquettes and Outer Etiquettes, with the correlation between these factors and the total score being significant at the 0.01 level. To examine reliability, the Guttman Split-Half Coefficient (0.88) and Cronbach's Alpha (0.93) were calculated. The Cronbach's Alpha coefficients for Inner Etiquettes and Outer Etiquettes were at 0.93 and 0.77, respectively. The results indicated high validity and reliability of the questionnaire, confirming that this tool is fit for measuring the construct of ideal prayer for use in related research.
