The main purpose of this study was to test the factorial structure of the religious orientation scale to get the shortest form of it. The current research was conducted through a correlational method. A sample of 446 university students was selected through convenience sampling method from Qom Branch, Islamic Azad University and University of Qom. The participants completed the religious orientation scale. To attest the reliability and construct validity of the scale Cronbach’s alpha and factorial analysis were used. Data were analyzed through the Pearson correlation and split-half methods. The results showed that the revised form of religious orientation scale consisted of three factors: Ritual orientation and Communication with Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them); religion-orientation; God orientation and belief in the afterlife. The high coefficient alpha (0.95) of the scale was an indicator of its reliability. Based on these findings, this scale has high reliability and validity; consistent factors are obtained from it. This scale may be used to study the religiosity of people and be applied in clinical settings and future researches.
