This study aimed to investigate the relationship between family boundaries and emotional divorce with the mediating role of marital satisfaction. The research method was descriptive-correlational. For this purpose, 144 people were selected through convenient sampling method. Subjects answered three scales: Islamic family boundaries, marital satisfaction, and emotional divorce. Data analysis was performed by Baron and Kenny’s four-step method using linear regression. Findings showed: a) there is a negative relationship between family boundaries and emotional divorce; b) there is a positive relationship between family boundaries and marital satisfaction; c) there is a negative relationship between marital satisfaction and emotional divorce; and d) marital satisfaction plays a mediating role in the relationship between family boundaries and emotional divorce. Thus, organizing and streamlining family boundaries, with a focus on increasing marital satisfaction, reduces emotional divorce. The end result of this reorganization and efficiency will be the consolidation of the foundations of the family.
