This study seeks to design, construct, and validate a "Forgiveness scale based on Islamic sources" in order to measure forgiveness among university and seminary students. In doing so, using the valid Islamic resources, the components of forgiveness were created and designed using principal component method. After professional judgment by professors and professionals, and preliminary admini-stration of the items and omitting some of them with low intercorrelation, the remaining items were 34; thus the final 34 item were administered to a sample of 360 students of Qom University and Imam Khomeini Research and Education Institute who were sampled through convenience sampling method. Factor analysis with principal component analysis with orthogonal rotation showed that the scale comprised of 6 factors: malice, empathetic forgiveness, ignore, generous forgiveness, restorative approach, and controlling anger. The study findings were obtained using the SPSS software. Also, the forgiveness scale showed high content validity and Cronbach's alpha of .906. The based on Islam forgiveness scale has high reliability and validity and could measure people’s forgiveness.
