The present study aimed to develop a Qur'an-based process model of transcendent growth through a systematic analysis of Qur'anic verses. Employing a qualitative approach, the study utilized the conventional content analysis method proposed by Hsieh and Shannon (2005). Data were analyzed using MAXQDA 2020 software. In the initial stage, 28 primary concepts related to transcendent growth were identified. Subsequently, more than 1,400 relevant Qur'anic textual units were collected, from which 200 verses were selected for final analysis following conceptual screening.
Inductive analysis of the data resulted in the extraction of 190 initial codes, 81 subcategories, 29 components, and six overarching categories: contextual factors, causal factors, core components of growth, indicators of growth, growth-promoting strategies, and outcomes. The findings revealed that transcendent growth is a dynamic, gradual, and interactive process that unfolds within the context of the human–God relationship and is sustained through the interplay of human agency, divine guidance, conscious choice, and persistent effort. This process manifests across cognitive, moral, behavioral, and spiritual dimensions, ultimately leading to psychological balance, spiritual flourishing, and collective well-being. The proposed model may serve as a foundation for developing assessment instruments, educational programs, and psychoeducational interventions grounded in Islamic teachings.
