This study aimed to investigate the role of Islam in curriculums of family psychology in Iran. In doing so, more than 50 curriculums that are being administered under either Iranian Ministry of Science or Ministry of Medicine were investigated. Of these, five disciplines were found that were related to family psychology of which all of them were in post-graduate levels. These curriculums, more or less, paid attention to Islam and Islamic psychology in educating family psychologists and especially family therapists. In addition, in 14 other disciplines there were units that were related to family psychology or counseling, within which only there were little mention of Islam. Content analysis of content related to Islam in curriculum of family psychology showed that there was a cultural analysis lacking. This makes family psychology curriculum less ideal regarding Islam. This study depicting a big picture of the role of Islam in family psychology curriculums, stressed on the necessity of conducting fundamental researches in order to have culture-sensitive curriculums in Iranian universities.
