Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of positive parenting intervention on perceived stress, psychological capital, and psychological and spiritual development of adolescents. This quasi-experimental study was conducted with a pre-test post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of the study included mothers and adolescents aged 13 to 18 in Qom, from whom 30 people were selected through convenience sampling and randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups (15 people each). The experimental group participated in eight 90-minute sessions of positive parenting training, but the control group did not receive any intervention. Before and after the intervention, Psychological Capital, Perceived Stress, and Psycho-Spiritual Transformation questionnaires were administered to both groups. The data were analyzed using multivariate and univariate analysis of covariance. The findings showed that this intervention reduced perceived stress and increased psychological capital, but had no any effect on spiritual and psychological development. Therefore, parenting education can improve parents' knowledge and, as a result, raise children with healthy personalities and contribute to the formation of a healthy and advanced society
