The prevalence of chronic diseases is increasing in the world and the prevalence of the disease affects different aspects of the life of the affected person and the quality of life of the people. In recent years, spiritual therapy and interventions have attracted the attention of many researchers in the treatment of chronic diseases. The present study aimed to review the past studies in examining the effectiveness of spiritual interventions in chronic diseases. To review the texts, original English sources have been used in scientific databases and Farsi/Persian electronic data banks, as well as referring to the archives of the country's magazines and checking available Farsi/Persian sources. The searched keywords included effectiveness, spiritual interventions, chronic diseases. The spiritual needs of chronic patients, the effect of spiritual interventions in reducing disease symptoms, and the problems of achieving this goal were reviewed and summarized. Spiritual interventions for people suffering from chronic diseases improve the condition of the disease, quality of life, spiritual well-being, and reduce anxiety and depression.
