Abstract

The present study aimed to explain the factors of extramarital relationship and identify the share of different variables through meta-analysis. Among the articles, 12 studies were selected based on inclusion criteria. Finally, ten general factors identified in this field were examined using the second version of CMA software. The results showed that the effect size of attachment style variables, variety seeking and Promiscuity, personality traits, relationship quality, Sex drive and social networks are significant in relation to extramarital relationships. The effect size is related to the variables of demographic characteristics  marital satisfaction, quality of life, religion and ethics and other variables including gender Schema and inappropriate coverage were not significant in relation to extramarital relationships. Among factors, the factor of variety seeking and Promiscuity has shown the greatest effect.
