Addiction is one of the four global crises of the third millennium and at the forefront of threats and social harms and one of the saddest problems of today's societies that has challenged most different societies, especially our society. The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of an intervention program based on positive psychology and Adler group therapy in promoting resilience in drug addicts. The research method was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest and control group. The population of drug addicts referred to addiction treatment centers in Shahroud in 2020. The sample was selected by cluster random sampling and 15 people were voluntarily assigned to the first experimental group (positive psychology), 15 to the second experimental group (Adler treatment), and 15 to the control group. The first experimental group received 10 sessions of positive psychotherapy and the second experimental group received 10 sessions of Adler therapy group, but the control group did not receive any intervention until the end of the study. According to the findings of this study, Adler's group therapy had a greater effect on the resilience of drug addicts than positive psychology.
