This study aimed to formulate a structural model for the relationship between patience and hope. This is a correlational study which included 527 students of Shiraz University whom were chosen through the multi-stage cluster sampling method and filled out the Khormaee's at al Patience Scale and Snyder's Hope Scale. Path analysis showed that the proposed model is a good fit with the data and the direct relation of patience to hope was confirmed. The study findings showed that patience results in an increased ability of goal-setting in life (a factor of hope) and the ability to plan to achieve goals (the path factor from hope). The results indicated that by the instruction of patience through its components (becoming transcendent, tolerance, acceptance, perseverance, and delay), the level of hope in students could be improved.
