The effectiveness of Islamic teaching based religious-spiritual psychotherapy on quality of life, resiliency, and mindset of women with addicted spouse

Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of Islamic teaching based religious-spiritual psychotherapy on quality of life, resiliency, and mindset of women with addicted spouse. The method was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest and control group. Research population was all spouses of addicted referred therapy and rehabilitation centers of Tabriz in the summer 2016. Of the three centers working under Behzisti’s supervision, 24 women who volunteered to participate were selected through convenience sampling and assigned to experimental and control groups (12 individuals per group). The study instruments were: Connor and Davidson Resilience Scale (2003), the World Health Organization Quality Scale (1998) and Batista questionnaire (LRI). The experimental group received 11 sessions (two sessions of 75 minutes). The data were analyzed by covariance analysis, using the SPSS software version 20. Findings of covariance analysis showed that there were significant differences between the two groups in resiliency (P<0.05), quality of life, and mindset (P<0.05). Based on these results, it can be concluded that because of Islamic teaching based religious-spiritual psychotherapy on quality of life, resiliency, and mindset of women with addicted spouse, we suggest using this method as a therapeutic approach to addiction treatment centers.
