The present research aimed to introduce a model of patience based on Islamic teachings and to explore its efficacy on psychological well-being of housewives. It was hypothe-sized that patience education would cause improved psychological well-being. A nine-session program was designed that was based on the components and methods of improving patience which was yielded according to Pasandideh’s (2016) model of happiness. This is a pseudo-experimental designed study with pre-post tests and control group. In doing so, 26 housewives in a neighborhood home of the district 22 of area of Tehran province were elected by answering to psychological well-being questionnaire, and were randomly assigned in two groups of 13: experimental control groups. After administering the pre-test for both groups, the experimental group received the training in 9 sessions whereas the control group received no training. The two groups were compared using the analysis of covariance method. The analysis and comparison of findings of pre- and post- tests of the experimental and control groups showed increased psychological well-being in experimental group while there was no increase in the pre/post- tests of the control group. The increase in psychological well-being remained after 45 days. Thus, the Islamic-based educational program and intervention of patience is effective in well-being of women. It was that concluded that we are able to improve the level of psychological well-being of housewives trough Islamic based education of patience.
